The Philippines Hosts the 6th Political Consultations with Hungary

Undersecretary Enrique A. Manalo and Deputy State Secretary Szilveszter Bus, heads of delegation for the Philippines and Hungary, discuss political, economic and cultural relations at the 6th Philippine-Hungary Political Consultations.

27 March 2018 – The Philippines and Hungary successfully concluded their sixth political consultations at the Makati Diamond Residences on March 23. Undersecretary for Policy Enrique A. Manalo led the Philippine delegation while Deputy State Secretary Szilveszter Bus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade led the Hungarian delegation.

The political consultations came at an auspicious time as the two countries mark 45 years of Philippine-Hungarian diplomatic relations this year.

The two sides noted the various political and economic developments in their respective countries and discussed areas of mutual interest in trade, agriculture, water management, education and culture. They also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues.

Both countries are also looking forward to the implementation of the Economic Cooperation Agreement which entered into force on 05 February 2018 and the conduct of the inaugural Joint Economic Commission this year.

Hungary will host the next bilateral consultations in Budapest. END
