Remains of OFW Henry Acorda to Arrive Tuesday
17 June 2018 – The remains of the Filipino financial analyst who was fatally mauled in Slovakia last month will arrive in the Philippines on Tuesday, the Department of Foreign Affairs said today.
The DFA said the remains of Henry John Acorda will be repatriated from Bratislava on Monday on board a Slovak government aircraft that is expected to arrive in Manila at 11 a.m.
Ambassador to Vienna Ma. Cleofe Natividad is expected to accompany the remains and the mother and two siblings of Acorda.
The repatriation comes more than a week after hundreds of Slovaks poured into the streets of the capital to support calls for justice for the 36-year-old Filipino who died from injuries he sustained after he was badly beaten up by a local last month.
Acorda was attacked after he tried to protect a Filipina companion from harassment by the suspect who is now in jail for manslaughter charges. END
