LA UNION 19 July 2018 — The Consular Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs in La Union joins the nation in observance of the 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week from 17 to 23 July 2018, with the theme “Kakayahan at Kasanayan Para sa Kabuhayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran”:

A short program commenced with the Singing of the Philippine National Anthem.

Officer-in-Charge Estellita V. Casuga gave a short message encouraging the participants to uphold the rights of individual people with disabilities by working against discrimination, neglect, and abuse.

Casuga also provided information on what everyone can do for them such as to empower and support family members, parent groups, and networks to advocate and gain access to services to persons with disabilities. END

Other activities were the posting of National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week tarpaulin at the CO entrance, and the uploading of the NDPR poster and Loyalty Pledge on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on the TV monitor installed at the waiting area for the information of incoming visitors from 17 July 2018 onwards.
