Update No. 3 on Financial Assistance to Stranded OFWs

24 August 2018 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has released almost P2.8 million in financial assistance to overseas Filipino workers who were stranded by the recent closure of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

A total of 381 affected workers received the cash assistance on Thursday, bringing to 559 the total number of beneficiaries who have been served since Wednesday.

The DFA reminds affected workers that it will release the cash assistance in all three NAIA terminals only until 10 p.m. tonight.

Stranded OFWs who are still in Manila may still claim the P5,000.00 cash assistance at the DFA Office of Migrant Workers Affairs but only until the end of office hours on Friday, 31 August while those abroad can do so at any Philippine Embassy or Consulate General until 30 September 2018. END
