Update No. 5 on Financial Assistance to Stranded OFWs

28 August 2018 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) provided financial assistance to 68 overseas Filipino workers at its Office of Migrant Workers Affairs (OMWA) on Tuesday.

This brings to 1,030 the total number of those who have been served and P5.25 million the total amount that has been disbursed since Wednesday last week.

OFWs affected by the runway closure at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport who are still in the Philippines are reminded that they can claim the P5,000.00 cash assistance at the OMWA, located at the third floor of the DFA Building in Pasay City, only until the end of office hours on Friday, 31 August.

Affected kababayan who are already abroad can file their claim at any Philippine Embassy or Consulate General until 30 September 2018.

OFWs claiming financial assistance are required to personally appear and submit their airline ticket showing original date of departure; reissued ticket showing new date of departure; Employment Contract; and Overseas Employment Certificate. END
