24 November 2018 — One of the biggest international holiday bazaars in the country—the International Bazaar—will open its doors on Sunday, 25 November 2018 at the Philippine International Convention Center Forums 1, 2, and 3.
The annual event is organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), together with the International Bazaar Foundation, Inc. (IBF), Spouses of the Heads of Mission (SHOM), and the Diplomatic and Consular Corps.
“For this year, shoppers and their families will get a chance to have a ‘taste of the world’ with a dazzling spread of food tables with authentic dishes from 36 Embassies and six Consulates General in the Philippines,” said SHOM President Madame Susan Fries of Sweden.
“Philippines’ Best” inspired crafts and other diverse products from Metro Manila will also be offered by the Metro Manila Mayors Spouses Foundation Inc., and other community-based exhibitors.
Bazaar-goers will also get a chance to win a brand new Hyundai Eon, kitchen appliances, hotel weekend packages, and other raffle prizes.
Proceeds of the event will go to IBF’s proposed project, the IBF Traditional Livelihood Center, which highlights the preservation of traditional craftsmanship of Filipino through skills training in embroidery, weaving, woodcarving, and pottery.
It aims to assist the beneficiaries in becoming financially and economically independent after acquiring skills and techniques previous generations of Filipinos have traditionally started.
