British Embassy in Manila Holds Briefing on Brexit
PHOTO: Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Policy Enrique Manalo led representatives from various agencies who attended a briefing on Brexit and its implications on Philippines-United Kingdom relations at the Manila Diamond Hotel on 16 April 2019.
The briefing was conducted by the British Embassy in Manila, led by British Ambassador to the Philippines Daniel Pruce.
Also present during the briefing were Trade and Industry Assistant Secretary Ann Claire Cabochan, Department of Foreign Affairs’ Office of European Affairs (DFA-OEA) Executive Director Elizabeth Te, and DFA-OEA European Affairs Division Director Pablito Mendoza.
Ambassador Pruce briefed the Philippine side on the latest developments in negotiations between the U.K. and discussed the possible implications of Brexit on bilateral relations, particularly in trade, investment, and migration to the U.K.
Undersecretary Manalo expressed his appreciation for the initiative of the British Embassy to update the Philippines on the status of Brexit and assured them that the Philippines will continue to strengthen the robust cooperation between the two countries. (DFA OEA photo)
