Secretary Locsin, IOM Manila Administrative Centre Director Discuss Migration Issues
PHOTO: Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin Jr. (left) received Manila Administrative Centre (MAC) of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Director Enrico Ponziani (right) on 30 April 2019 to discuss migration-related issues and key institutional partnerships of the IOM in the Philippines.
Secretary Locsin highlighted the Philippines’ active involvement in the success of the Global Compact for Migration (GCM) and stressed the importance of changing the current narrative on migration. He also expressed appreciation for the committed partnership with the IOM and the assistance it extended in facilitating the adoption of the GCM.
For his part, Director Ponziani lauded the Philippine Government’s policies in promoting and protecting the welfare of its migrant workforce and, equally, had only high praise for the 515 Filipinos employed at the Manila Administrative Centre.
The MAC is IOM’s global hub which provides a range of administrative services mainly covering human resources, finance, procurement, online communications, Processes and Resources Integrated Systems Management (PRISM), and information technology to IOM Headquarters and its Field Offices.
