Consul General Rosalita Sayoc Prospero, 56
30 May 2019 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announces with deep sorrow the demise of Consul General to Toronto Rosalita Sayoc Prospero on 28 May 2019 at the age of 56.
Consul General Prospero entered the Philippine Foreign Service in 1993, and served in various postings in Sydney, Paris and was appointed as Consul General in Toronto in May 2015. At the DFA, she served in various offices, the last being as Executive Director of the DFA’s Office of American Affairs.
In a tribute posted in the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto’s Facebook page, Consul General Prospero “was a career diplomat who dedicated her life in the service of our country and our its people.”
Born on 29 September 1962 in Manila, she holds master’s degrees in International Studies from the University of Sydney and Business Administration from the Ateneo de Manila University, a diploma in International Relations and Development from the Institute of Social Studies-The Hague and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of the Philippines.
