Foreign Affairs Acting Secretary Signs Condolence Book of Late Former Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia

MANILA 30 May 2019 – Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs Ernesto C. Abella signs the Book of Condolences for the late Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Al Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’adzam Shah, former Sultan of Pahang and  Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King), at the Malaysian Embassy in Manila on 30 May 2019.

“The Secretary of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Foreign Affairs offer deepest condolences to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Royal Family on the passing of His Royal Highness, Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Al Marhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’adzam Shah.

The former Sultan of Pahang will be remembered for his vast accomplishments and his role in fostering friendship between our nations, particularly during his reign as Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

May his life and legacy serve as inspiration to all Malaysians, in this time of loss,” Acting Secretary Abella’s message read.

Sultan Ahmad Shah Sultan Abu Bakar who was Sultan of Pahang from 1974 to 2019, reigned as Malaysia’s seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong from April 1979 to April 1984. He passed away on 22 May 2019. END
