DFA Consular Office La Union Participates in the National Youth Commission- Regional Youth Advisory Council

LA UNION 05 July 2019 — Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office (DFA CO) La Union participated in the National Youth Commission- Regional Youth Advisory Council (NYC-RYAC) for 1st Semester of 2019 on 26 June 2019 at the Conference Room of the Department of Health in San Fernando, La Union. 

DFA CO La Union Administrative Officer Jeremie M. Obra represented the office in the meeting relating to youth affairs, welfare and development.

The meeting aims to promote and strengthen regional wide cooperation and partnership between and among RYAC members in the region pursuant to NYC’s continuing advocacy to build closes ties with the regional agencies and youth organizations as its partners in the promotion, implementation of youth policies, programs, projects and activities in the region.

During the meeting, NYC Commissioner Jerome Suratos discussed the nine Youth Bills and Resolutions from the National Youth Parliament  which includes the Youth Bill No. 5 - “An Act mandating the Department of Foreign Affairs to establish migrant Filipino youth centers in all Philippine Embassies, and for other purposes.”

The participants were also informed of the Accomplishments of the Sangguniang Kabataan of the Province of La Union, updates of the 12th National Youth Parliament (NYP) Advocacy Plan, teenage issues faced by the youth, Post Report of Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program for 2018 and the programs, projects and activities for youth of the Regional Line Agencies.
