DFA CO La Union Participates in Capacity-Building for Migrants’ Rights Advocates, Support Groups

LA UNION 10 July 2019 — The Department of Foreign Affairs’ Consular Office (DFA CO) in La Union participated in the Capacity-Building for Migrants’ Rights Advocates and Support Group, a program of the Center for Migrant Advocacy (CMA)-Philippines on 21 June 2019 at Hotel Ariana in Bauang, La Union.

In attendance were 40 overseas Filipino workers leaders from Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Pangasinan and La Union. The Capacity-Building aimed in promoting the rights and welfare of overseas Filipinos-land and sea-based migrant workers and Filipino immigrants and their families. 

DFA-CO La Union’s Officer-In-Charge Estellita V. Casuga served as one of the Resource Persons for the Government Panel on Migration Governance together with the regional officers of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Public Employment Service Office  and National Reintegration Center for OFWs. OIC Casuga presented the DFA’s programs and services for Filipino migrants. END
