DFA CO La Union Participates in the Int’l Humanitarian Law Month 2019, Multi-Sectoral Forum

PHOTO: The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office (DFA CO) in La Union participated in the celebration of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month 2019 with the theme “Protecting the Defenseless in Times of Armed Conflict”, and the Multi-Sectoral Forum–“Partnership for Peace: Working Together for Humanity” on 06 September 2019 at Rose Bowl Steakhouse and Restaurant in Bauang, La Union.

The said events were conducted by the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) La Union-San Fernando Chapter in partnership with the Rotary Club of San Fernando City, La Union. DFA CO Officer-In-Charge Estellita V. Casuga represented the Office.

The reading of the Seven Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement by Community Development Organizer Rachel Joy Habab, and the presentations and discussions on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) activities in the Philippines highlighted the programs.

The celebration was concluded with the signing of the Declaration of Commitment of IHL by the representatives from the government and civilian agencies. (La Union CO photo)
