ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY 14 October 2019 — The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Office in Zamboanga successfully conducted its ninth passport processing operation on 14 September 2019 in the local government unit (LGU) of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay.
A total of 218 passport applications were processed during the one-day operation.
Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay is a five-hour ride away from Zambonga City by bus. The LGU expressed its gratitude to the Department for extending passport services to its constituents.
The passport processing operation, usually held on Saturdays upon request of the LGU and other government offices and interested parties, was facilitated in order to address the issues of high volume of passport applications, unavailability of mobile passport equipment, and lack of internet access in some provinces under the jurisdiction of the Office.
The Consular Office intends to continue this activity which benefits a large number of passport applicants especially in the remote areas of its jurisdiction. END
