Dr. Benjamin B. Domingo, 83
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announces with deep sorrow the demise of Ambassador Benjamin B. Domingo on 21 November 2019 at the age of 83.
A lawyer by profession, and an author of several books on law and diplomacy, Ambassador Domingo joined the Philippine foreign service on 23 December 1975. He was the country’s first Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, and also held diplomatic posts in Honolulu, Bonn, and San Francisco. At the DFA, he served in various capacities at the Office of the Secretary, the Foreign Service Institute, the Office of International Economic Affairs and Development, and concluded his foreign service career as Undersecretary for Legal and Migrant Workers’ Affairs from 1999 to 2001.
Born on 02 June 1936, Ambassador Domingo obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philippine Studies both from the University of the Philippines. END
