Consular Office in La Union Participates in Year-end Meeting on Migration

LA UNION 05 February 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affair Consular Office in La Union participated in the recently-concluded 4th Quarter Regular Meeting of the Sub-committee on International Migration and Development (SCIMD) – Region 1 on 30 January 2020 at the Conference Hall of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Regional Office, San Fernando City.
The La Union Consular Office Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Venia Lee R. Pacupac represented the office in the quarterly meeting that is aimed at formulating policies and implementing programs that is tailor-made to address the concerns of Filipino migrants and their families during the phases of migration.
The meeting, hosted by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), was attended by representatives of various government agencies and stakeholders to discuss several agendas carried over from the previous meeting and approval of last meeting’s minutes.
The Department of Foreign Affairs’ active participation and membership, through the Consular Office in La Union, is an affirmation that sends a clear beacon among other member agencies that it is committed to upholding its mission of promoting and protecting Philippine interests in the global community, specifically the Filipino Migrants.
