Acting Foreign Affairs Secretary Manalo Receives Non-resident Ambassador of Yemen

PASAY 02 March 2020 — Acting Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique A. Manalo received non-resident Ambassador of Yemen to the Philippines based in Kuala Lumpur Adel Mohamed Ali Ba Hamid on 28 February 2020 at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Pasay City.

Ambassador Hamid briefed Acting Secretary Manalo on the situation in Yemen and proposed the opening of a Yemeni Consulate to be headed by an honorary consul in Manila in the near future. He also expressed interest in looking into higher education and training opportunities in the Philippines for deserving Yemeni nationals.

For his part, Acting Secretary Manalo welcomed the initiatives and expressed the Philippine Government’s support for the ongoing peace efforts in Yemen. END
