 “Project DFA Resilience” Launched

PASAY 06 March 2020 — Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Administration J. Eduardo Malaya launched “Project DFA Resilience: Mindfulness, Self-Awareness, Empathy and Engagement (MSEE)” on 10 February 2020, highlighting the importance of promoting mental health in the Department in support of the Mental Health Act of 2018 or RA 11036.

Spearheaded by the DFA Human Resources Management Office in partnership with White Space Mind and Body Wellness Studio, the project DFA Resilience: MSEE is a series of one-day workshops to be cascaded to DFA personnel starting this March. It shall teach them how to use time-tested practice of mindful meditation and self-awareness as a means to enhance mental activity, improve emotional resilience, and foster relational empathy, thus, elevating the quality of life and productivity in the workplace.

The said project aims to build resilience among foreign service personnel who have to face such daunting challenges as working in unfamiliar settings in foreign countries, adjusting to shifting workplaces and work teams due to frequent rotation, and attending to the needs of overseas Filipino workers.

Ms. Eileen Tupaz, an international yoga and meditation teacher trainer who is also the co-founder and co-owner of White Space Mind and Body Wellness Studio, will be fascilitating the program. END
