DFA Consular Office in General Santos City Attends “Kapehan sa GenSan”

GENERAL SANTOS CITY 09 March 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) - Consular Office (CO) in General Santos attended the “Kapehan sa GenSan” on 05 March 2020 at SM Foodcourt, General Santos City.

The “Kapehan sa GenSan” is a weekly media forum jointly launched by the Philippine Information Agency and SM General Santos to provide a venue for dialogue between various stakeholders including government agencies, civic society organizations, scientific and academic communities.

The two-hour forum was hosted by Philippine Information Agency (PIA) XII’s Officer-in-Charge – Regional Head Catherine T. Apelacio. The Consular Office’s Acting Officer-in-Charge Helen Grace A. Tabora was joined by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) XII’s Secretary Jessie M. Dela Cruz as guests in the talk show conference that was attended by 29 press people from various media companies.

The forum provided a massive opportunity to advocate civil awareness on the other functions of the Department of Foreign Affairs besides passport issuances, such as the Civil Registry, Authentication/Apostillization, and Assistance-to-Nationals services.

The forum was officially concluded by encouraging the members of the media to become partners of the government in disseminating unbiased, fact-based and reliable information which embodies everyone’s social responsibility. END
