DFA Consular Office in La Union Participates in the Task Force Meeting to End Local Communist Armed Conflict

LA UNION 11 March 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) La Union’s Security Officer Mr. Victor Mitchel M. Zambrano participated in the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF ELCAC) Region 1 First Quarter Meeting, CY 2020 at Vista La Vita, City of San Fernando, La Union on 04 March 2020.
The meeting, which was spearheaded by National Security Council (NSC) National Security Adviser and Director General Hermogenes C. Esperon Jr., Cabinet Officer for Regional Development & Security (CORDS) for Region 1/Presiding Officer, was attended by La Union Governor and Regional Peace and Order Council Chairman (RPOC) Francisco Emmanuel “Pacoy” R. Ortega III, Vigan City Mayor Juan Carlo S. Medina, Ilocos Sur and Regional Development Council Chairman (RDC), and different heads of agencies or their representatives.
The highlights of the meeting included the anti-insurgency updates and threat situation in Region 1, including the RTF ELCAC’s implementation plans for 2020 and 2021 budget proposal. END
