DFA Consular Office in La Union Participates in the Annual Review and Planning Workshop of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking

LA UNION 02 January 2020 — As part of the Department’s support in upholding RA 9208, RA 9775 and RA 9262, CO La Union, represented by its Assistance-to-Nationals Officer, Venia Lee R. Pacupac, participated in the Annual Review and Planning Workshop of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee Against Trafficking – Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC) that was held on 06 December 2019 at the R Buffet Restaurant in the City of San Fernando, La Union.

The meeting, presided by Ms. Leliani Bolivar, on behalf of Regional Director Marcelo Nicomedes Castillo of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1, was attended by representatives of various government agencies and stakeholders to identify Key Results Area (KRA), formulate strategic plans in relation to specific objectives and present the initial draft in the next Regional Development Council Meeting. Among the agencies present during the meeting were Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 1, Philippine National Police-PRO 1 (WCPD), Department of Science and Technology Regional Office 1, Department of Health- Center for Health Development 1, National Bureau of Investigation Regional Office 1 and the National Police Commission – Regional Office and DFA Consular Office in La Union.

Ms. Leilani Bolivar, discussed the Key Concepts and Briefer (Global, National, Regional Data) and Committee Structure, Functions, Strategic Plans, KRAs- Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2010-01 (JMC 2010-01) agendas before the course of the workshop.

The DFA Consular Office in La Union expressed its support for any upcoming activities that will be conducted by RIACAT-VAWC and will continue to be a member, in the succeeding years. END
