307 Filipino Seafarers from Italy and Portugal Safely Return to PH

PASAY CITY 04 April 2020 - After the arrival of 201 seafarers from Spain this morning, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) welcomed another batch of Filipino repatriates comprising 185 seafarers onboard MSC Splendida docked in Genoa, Italy, and 122 seafarers onboard MSC Fantasia docked in Lisbon, Portugal.

The chartered flight that carried the repatriates landed at the NAIA Terminal 1 at 1:12 p.m.

This repatriation was made possible by the joint efforts of the DFA, through the Philippine Embassy in Lisbon, Portugal, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Department of Health (DOH), and Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc., the local manning agency.

All 307 Filipino repatriates underwent the necessary medical protocols as required by DOH-Bureau of Quarantine. END (Photo by DFA-OUMWA)
