DFA Welcomes Home 301 Filipino Seafarers from Miami, USA

PASAY CITY 14 April 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) added an additional 301 seafarers from the cruise ships Carnival Legend, Carnival Pride, Carnival Fascination and Carnival Conquest to the growing number of repatriated Filipinos since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Qatar Airways flight that brought the repatriates home landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at around 8:27 a.m

The 301 Filipino seafarers underwent the appropriate medical protocols upon arrival as required by the Department of Health (DOH). They would also be required to undergo home-based quarantine in accordance with the assessment of the Bureau of Quarantine.

The whole-of-nation approach to repatriation involves the DFA coordinating with the local manning agency, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the DOH and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). END
