DFA, DOH Send Off Chinese Medical Experts on PH’s COVID-19 Fight
PASAY CITY 19 April 2020 — Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. and Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III expressed appreciation to the Chinese government and the team of medical experts dispatched by the former to aid in the Philippines’ COVID-19 response as they sent off the experts at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport today.
The Chinese medical experts completed their two-week mission which included visits to hospitals and COVID-19 facilities, sharing of technical advice on COVID-19 prevention and control in the country, and exchanges of medical treatment experiences with Filipino counterparts in close coordination with the Department of Health (DOH).
The best practices shared by the experts gave the opportunity for Filipino and Chinese health professionals to share valuable information in the global fight against COVID-19.
The Chinese government offered continued collaboration and cooperation on health.
Also present at the send-off were National Plan Against COVID-19 Chief Implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez, Jr., Chief of Presidential Protocol and Presidential Assistant on Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Robert E. Borje, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Concerns Atty. Brigido J. Dulay, and Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian. END
