DFA Consular Office in Tacloban Holds Digital Celebration of DFA 122nd Founding Anniversary

TACLOBAN CITY 24 June 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in Tacloban celebrated a digital celebration of the 122nd Founding Anniversary of the Department on 23 June 2020.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, personnel posted in their social media accounts their fruitful experiences while working at the Department and shared how the government agency has motivated them to continue pursuing the highest form of patriotism, integrity, professionalism, excellence, service, and love of country in the performance of their duty as a public servant. The staff took pride in how rewarding it is to be part of an esteemed institution that has been in the frontlines in promoting the welfare and interests of Filipino people since its establishment 122 years ago. As highlighted in Consular Office Tacloban Officer-in-Charge Charlie Cinco’s message “DFA has given me the opportunity to serve my fellow Filipinos both here at home and abroad.”

Continuing its efforts to engage the public to know more about the Department, several videos were also shown at the Consular Office’s consular area for public viewing, namely: a documentary about Apolinario Mabini, the first Secretary of Foreign Affairs; tribute to overseas Filipinos on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19; and stories of our diplomats under the “We Are DFA” video series campaign.

The Consular Office in Tacloban, together with other consular offices nationwide, remains committed in being of service to the Filipino people through providing the public’s consular needs in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. END
