MANILA 15 August 2020 — The Philippines welcomed the Israeli Government’s donation of various equipment for the blended learning program of the Department of Education (DepEd) during a turn-over ceremony attended by officials from DepEd, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and the Israeli Embassy. The said equipment, consisting of digital copiers, laptop computers, and printers were turned over to DepEd officials on 13 August 2020 at the Embassy Chancery.
Both DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, who joined the ceremony via video conference, and DepEd Undersecretary Revsee Escobedo expressed appreciation for the donation, emphasizing that the equipment would help strengthen DepEd’s blended learning program for basic education students while in-person classes remain suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For her part, Israeli Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Yulia Rachinsky-Spivakov reiterated Israel’s commitment in providing assistance to the Philippines as a testament to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Last June, the Israeli Government turned over personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) for use of their frontline workers. END
