PH Government Receives Canada's Donation of N95 Masks

MANILA 04 September 2020 – The Philippine Government received the Canadian Government’s donation of 120,000 pieces of particulate respirator N95 masks, in a turn-over ceremony attended by officials of the Department of Health (DOH), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), and the Canadian Embassy on 02 September 2020. The donation, valued at approximately P30.4 million, supports the Philippines’ response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health Undersecretary for Health Policy and Systems Development Dr. Mario Villaverde expressed appreciation for the donation, stressing its crucial importance in the work of medical frontliners all over the Philippines.
In his response, Canadian Ambassador James Peter MacArthur said that the donation is in line with Canada’s cooperation with ASEAN in combating infectious diseases. He also expressed hope that the Philippines and Canada could further strengthen their cooperation in health care and education. END
