PASAY CITY 04 September 2020 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continues its repatriation efforts from all over the globe by welcoming home 361 Overseas Filipinos from Lebanon.
The Philippine Airlines flight that brought the repatriates home landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 8:11 p.m yesterday after a 12-hour flight.
The 361 Filipino repatriates underwent the appropriate medical protocols upon arrival as required by the Department of Health-Bureau of Quarantine. They would also be required to undergo quarantine in accordance with the omnibus guidelines established by the Inter-Agency Task Force.
Meanwhile, the Department has chartered its third repatriation flight since the Beirut blast, which will arrive in Beirut on 24 September, carrying relief goods from the Philippine government. This repatriation flight will be the latest in the series of repatriation flights for distressed Overseas Filipinos in Lebanon that the Department has been organizing since December 2019.
The whole-of-nation approach to repatriation involves the DFA coordinating with the Philippine Coast Guard, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Health and the Philippine National Police. END
