DND Receives Donation of COVID-19 Test Kits from Israel
MANILA 09 November 2020 — The Philippines welcomed the donation of 10,000 COVID-19 test kits from the Israeli Ministry of Defense (MOD) to the Department of National Defense (DND) during a turnover ceremony held on 05 November 2020 at Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City. DND Secretary Delfin Lorenzana received the test kits from Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Rafael Harpaz at the said ceremony.
In his remarks, Secretary Lorenzana expressed his appreciation to the Israeli government for the donation, and cited this gesture as a sign of the close friendship and enhanced cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Harpaz reiterated the commitment of Israel to providing assistance to the Philippines in times of need as a testament to the amity and goodwill between the two countries.
Earlier this year, the Israeli Government turned over several donations, consisting of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Department of National Defense (DND) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) for use of their frontline workers, as well as education equipment to the Department of Education (DepEd) for its blended learning program.
