GENERAL SANTOS CITY 27 November 2020 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office (CO) in General Santos City successfully conducted a Livelihood Development Program entitled “Basic Make-up Virtual Workshop” on 21 November 2020, in line with its Gender and Development (GAD) program.
The two-hour activity, tagged as Consular Office’s "online girl bonding", was attended by the Consular Office organic, DFAMPC, security, GUM staff, and their friends and family members. It aimed to provide personnel and households with opportunities to improve their socio-economic conditions after the economic damage brought about by COVID-19. By providing access to the necessary skills and assets to engage in and maintain thriving livelihoods, participants are given opportunities to contribute to their communities. The workshop was also intended to contribute to the attendees’ self-improvement and self-confidence by learning means to look polished, put-together, and professional.
A total of 24--five men and 19 women--participants benefited from the online workshop where the resource person, Mr. Ralf Erik Benedict Valenzuela, demonstrated an everyday make-up look appropriate for the workplace, and ones for evening and formal events.
Three more GAD-related workshops and webinars are still scheduled to be conducted by the Consular Office every Saturday until the month of December. END
