SFA Locsin Inaugurates Philippine Embassy in Rome’s New Chancery

ROME 01 July 2021 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. inaugurated the new chancery of the Philippine Embassy in Rome on 27 June 2021. Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle blessed the premises of the building on the same occasion.
The new chancery will ensure a safe, functional, and efficient office space for the Embassy to conduct diplomacy, cultural promotion, and assistance to nationals and consular services.
The Embassy acquired the property located at Via Aurelia 290a/294b on 10 April 2018 and restored and renovated it from 2021 to 2021. It has energy-saving solutions and mechanisms; facilities that are responsive to the needs of persons with disabilities (PWD), and a spacious consular service area.
The Philippine Embassy in Rome also covers the Republic of Malta, Republic of Albania, and Republic of San Marino.
The Embassy is also the permanent representation of the Philippines to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and World Food Programme (WFP) and other international organizations based in Rome, such as, the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) andInternational Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).
The Embassy will have a soft-opening on 07 July 2021 at its new chancery. END
