Italian Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs

PASAY CITY, 27 October 2021 — Italian Ambassador Marco Clemente paid a courtesy visit to Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs (UCSCA) Brigido J. Dulay on 22 October 2021 following his Presentation of Credentials on 20 October.
Undersecretary Dulay welcomed Ambassador Clemente to the Philippines, assured him of the Philippine government’s support during his tour of duty, and conveyed his appreciation to Italy for the successful hosting of the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition to Defeat Daesh/ISIS in June this year.
Ambassador Clemente was pleased to note the rising vaccination rate in the Philippines and expressed hope that this leads to the re-opening of international schools soon.
The two sides also discussed the possible mutual recognition of Vaccination Certificates to enable a smoother flow of people between the Philippines and Italy.
Undersecretary Dulay was joined by OUCSCA Senior Special Assistant Wilfredo Santos while Ambassador Clemente was joined by the Embassy’s Deputy Head of Mission Eugeniu Rotaru. END
