PASAY CITY, 07 December 2021 – The Department of Foreign Affairs, led by the Office of Treaties and Legal Affairs, in partnership with the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, Australia Awards, and the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS), conducted the sixth installment of the Law of the Sea Course for government officials on 15-26 November 2021.

Held for the second time this year, the Course seeks to enhance the expertise of participating officials on both the theoretical underpinnings and practical application of some of the salient provisions of the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

The Course is a key feature of the ongoing partnership between the Philippines and Australia on capacity-building, education, and professional development, and is part of the series of events and activities commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries.
