DFA-OCA conducts webinar on Apostille for gov’t. agencies

PASAY CITY, 17 December 2021 – The Department of Foreign Affairs conducted a webinar on the Philippine Apostille in Practice for representatives of national government agencies. Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Brigido J. Dulay and Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs Senen T. Mangalile led the opening ceremony of the webinar on 16 December 2021 via Zoom.
A total of 460 participants from 34 government agencies participated in the online event.
In his opening remarks, Assistant Secretary Mangalile stated that the webinar is a step in the right direction to forge synergy among government agencies and implement the Philippines’ obligations under the Apostille Convention.
In his keynote message, Undersecretary Dulay highlighted that “the mobility of public documents needs to keep pace with the increasing demand of the Filipino as a global citizen, even as digital technology continues to make our world smaller and more interconnected”.
Among the resource speakers for the webinar were Mr. Brody Warren, Senior Legal Officer of The Hague Conference on Private International Law – Conférence de La Haye de droit international privé (HCCH), and DFA-OCA Authentication Division Acting Director Dyan Kristine B. Miranda-Pastrana.
