Acting Secretary Dulay receives Indian Ambassador, discusses plans on further collaboration on consular matters
Foreign Affairs Acting Secretary Brigido J. Dulay received Ambassador Shambhu S. Kumaran of the Republic of India on 16 February 2022.
PASAY, 18 February 2022 — Acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs Brigido Dulay met with Indian Ambassador Kumaran and discussed a range of consular-related matters including the country’s easing of protocols on the entry of foreign nationals and a review of the visa regime to encourage increased bilateral trade and people-to-people ties, in preparation for the further opening up of the country for international travel. It was highlighted that both countries mutually recognize each other’s vaccine certificates.
Both sides also looked forward to the convening of the Philippines-India Joint Consular Consultation Meeting in the second quarter of 2022.
Also present in the meeting are Office of Consular Affairs Assistant Secretary Senen T. Mangalile and Second Secretary Harish Dafauti of the Embassy of India in Manila. END
