DFA Welcomes Home 13 Filipinos from Ukraine

PASAY CITY, 02 March 2022 - The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Office of Migrant Workers Affairs led by Undersecretary Sarah Lou Y. Arriola and Assistant Secretary Paul Raymund P. Cortes welcomed the 13 Filipinos from Ukraine who arrived in the country minutes past 2200H on 1 March 2022 at NAIA Terminal III via an Emirates Airlines flight. 

The group was part of 40 evacuees who left Kyiv for Lviv and welcomed by Secretary of Foreign Affairs Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr. at the Poland border. The total number of repatriated Filipinos from Ukraine is now 19, following the previous arrival of six.

All the repatriation expenses, including transport expenses from Kyiv to Warsaw, food and accommodation in Lviv and Warsaw, RT-PCR test, and airfare to Manila were shouldered by the DFA’s Assistance-to-Nationals fund. END
