PH, Austria Reaffirm Ties in 2nd Political Consultations

PASAY CITY 10 March 2022 — The Philippines, represented by DFA Assistant Secretary for European Affairs Jaime Victor B. Ledda, and Austria, represented by Department for Asia & Pacific of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs Head Gabrielle Meon-Tschürtz, renewed their commitment to pursue stronger political, economic, and people-to-people cooperation during the 2nd Philippines-Austria Political Consultations held via video conference on 09 March 2022.
The two sides discussed cooperation in the areas of agriculture, space, cooperation between their foreign service institutes, combatting child pornography and online exploitation of children, technical vocational education and training, and apostille convention. They also exchanged views on domestic, multilateral, regional, and global issues in the context of the current public health situation, as well as the situation in Ukraine; and reiterated the importance of strengthening multilateral cooperation, highlighting the vital role of international law in the peaceful resolution of disputes among countries.
Ms. Meon-Tschürtz characterized Philippines-Austria bilateral relations as a “friendly partnership that continues to produce positive outcomes for both sides.” END
