Fiesta Filipinas Comes Back in 2022, Brighter and Better Than Ever!

 FIESTA FILIPINAS KV1

PASAY CITY 11 March 2022 — Get your cheerful masks and fabulous lanterns ready, because Fiesta Filipinas Season 2 is coming, with new destinations, new kits, and new activities!

The Department of Foreign Affairs, in partnership with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), will launch another season of Fiesta Filipinas this year as a way to bring Philippine culture and celebrations closer to Filipinos’ hearts, and showcase Filipino ingenuity, creativity, spirituality, and resourcefulness. As we celebrate and discover Philippine Fiestas, “bisitas” will hopefully be encouraged to visit the Philippines, especially now that the borders are officially open.

The Fiesta Filipinas Season 2 virtual event will aptly celebrate gratitude and Filipino identity with the Pahiyas Festival of Lucban, Quezon on 02 April, followed by the Wagayway and Kalayaan Festival of Cavite on 25 June, the Kadayawan Festival of Davao on 24 September, and to wrap up the season, the Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Tacloban, Leyte on 26 November.

Just like the previous season, the Pahiyas Festival will kick-start the second season of Fiesta Filipinas on 02 April 2022 by featuring a virtual tour of the province, with a new and exciting “local wanderer” who will showcase the must-visit sites, must-eat delicacies, and must-do activities in Lucban, Quezon.

To make the new season even more exciting, the organizers prepared new segments and activities that the bisitas are guaranteed to enjoy. Aside from the vibrant parades and performances, the local cuisine is the usual main attraction in barrios and towns during fiestas. To authentically showcase the unique Fiesta experience, a cooking segment will be one of the new elements of Fiesta Filipinas this season. With this new segment, a showcase of the province’s famous delicacy will also ensure a gastronomic experience for the bisitas

The first episode will be livestreamed on 02 April 2022, 4:00 PM (Philippine Standard time) via the DFA’s official Facebook page and YouTube Channel. Ninety-four (94) Philippine Embassies and Consulates General from around the world are expected to join virtually for the Pahiyas festival episode. END
