PASAY CITY 24 March 2022 - DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Brigido J. Dulay received His Excellency Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed Kazi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Philippines, on 17 March 2022, to discuss matters of mutual interest such as responses to the COVID-19 pandemic of both countries and the entry of fully vaccinated nationals across each other’s ports of entry.

With the resolve to strengthen cooperation on various consular matters and safe passage initiatives, Undersecretary Dulay and Ambassador Kazi expressed interest in facilitating access to affordable medicines in the Philippines.

The Philippines and Pakistan, apart from being among the most populous countries in the world, also share similarities in terms of the roll-out of their corresponding COVID-19 vaccination programs, as well as in the adoption of parallel policies, regulations, and protocols in addressing the pandemic and in respectively accelerating to better post-pandemic conditions.
