Irish Ambassador Calls on Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Lazaro

PASAY CITY 17 June 2022 – Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Ma. Theresa Lazaro met with Irish Ambassador to the Philippines William Carlos, on 15 June 2022, at the DFA.

Undersecretary Lazaro noted the close relations between Ireland and the Philippines. Ambassador Carlos praised the warmth and friendliness of Filipinos, including acknowledging the important role played by Filipino healthcare workers in helping Ireland cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the meeting, opportunities to further trade and cooperation in the fields of education, culture, agriculture, and maritime matters were discussed. Both sides agreed to work towards further cultivating the growing relationship between the Philippines and Ireland.  

Ambassador Carlos was joined by Deputy Head of Mission Brian McCrohan. END
