Director General of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Jakarta Discuss Post-Covid Economic Cooperation with DFA

PASAY CITY 21 July 2022 – DFA Assistant Secretary for Asian and Pacific Affairs Neal Imperial met with Jakarta-based Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office Director General Kin-wai Law at the Department of Foreign Affairs on15 July 2022.
They discussed the expansion of areas of cooperation, including augmenting trade and investments, reviving two-way tourism, reinvigorating decades-long collaboration in the creative industry, and pursuing more academic partnerships between Hong Kong and Philippine universities.
Director General Law was in the Philippines for a series of meetings with officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Finance, Department of Trade and Industry, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, as well as to participate in the celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in Manila.
Hong Kong is home to 218,105 Filipinos and was the 19th largest source of investments of the Philippines in 2021 amounting to USD 4.12 million or Php 203.12 million. END
