PH Consulate General in Jeddah Repatriates 353 Distressed Overseas Filipinos

JEDDAH 27 September 2022 — The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah organized a repatriation flight for distressed overseas Filipinos in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia on 22 September 2022. The repatriation was conducted through the generous support of the DFA-Office of the Undersecretary of Migrant Workers Affairs (DFA-OUMWA) under the leadership of Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Jeddah (POLO-Jeddah) and volunteers from the Filipino community also extended their assistance on the day of the flight.

A total of 353 overseas Filipinos boarded a chartered Philippine Airlines non-stop flight from Jeddah to Manila, along with representatives from DFA-OUMWA. The flight arrived in Manila in the afternoon of 23 September 2022, Philippine Standard Time. END
