Secretary for Foreign Affairs Manalo and UAE Ambassador Meet to Discuss Thriving PH-UAE Relations

PASAY CITY 28 October 2022 — Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo received His Excellency Mohamed Obaid Salem Alqataam Alzaabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for a courtesy call on 24 October 2022.

Secretary for Foreign Affairs Manalo expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to discuss with the Ambassador, matters relating to the vibrant PH and UAE bilateral relations. The Secretary likewise thanked the UAE Ambassador for his assistance in facilitating the UAE’s donations to the Philippines of 50 units of RT PCR Machines and other related equipment which shall be used in the country’s continuing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The donations arrived on 19 August 2022, which coincided with the 48th anniversary of the establishment of PH-UAE formal diplomatic relations.

The Secretary and the UAE Ambassador discussed numerous engagements and cooperation, including pressing global issues such as climate change and sustainability, that highlights the strong and dynamic bilateral ties between the Philippines and the UAE. END
