PH, Germany Hold 5th Political Consultations in Manila

PASAY CITY, 19 OCTOBER 2022 – The Philippines and Germany once again manifested their commitment to advance bilateral relations during the fifth round of Political Consultations held on 17 October 2022 in Manila.
Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary of the Office of European Affairs Jaime Victor B. Ledda led the Philippine delegation while Director General for Asia and the Pacific Petra Sigmund headed the German contingent.
The two sides exchanged views on the Indo-Pacific region, Migration of skilled workers, Climate Cooperation, Consular Matters and other Global Issues, and reiterated their commitment to the International Rules Based Order.
Joining Assistant Secretary Ledda were Assistant Secretary for the Office of the United Nations and Other International Organizations Kira Christianne R. Danganan-Azucena, Chargé d'affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Germany Lilibeth V. Pono, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Maritime and Oceans Affairs Maria Elena Cristina D. Maninga, and other officials from the Office of European Affairs.
German officials from the Federal Foreign Office and the German Embassy in Manila also participated during the consultations. END
