PASAY, 19 December 2022 - Newly-arrived Chargé d'affaires H.E. Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Mohammed Alhamam of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Manila paid a courtesy call on Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo on 13 December 2022. Assistant Secretary Alfonso A. Ver of the Office of Middle East and African Affairs was also present during the call.

CDA Alhamam conveyed the warm greetings of Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to Secretary Manalo and expressed Iraq’s readiness to work closely with the Philippines in expanding trade relations, tourism and people-to-people ties.

Secretary Manalo thanked CDA Alhamam for the visit and affirmed the Philippines’ longstanding friendship with Iraq as well as the Department’s commitment to provide support and facilitate linkages among Philippine and Iraqi stakeholders in areas of mutual interest. END
