PASAY CITY, 03 January 2022 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) underwent the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Recertification Audit on 07, 09, and 12 December 2022.

An audit team of six (6) members from TUV Nord Philippines, an independent third-party ISO certification body, conducted the three-day audit covering the DFA Main Office and the Office of Consular Affairs in Aseana, as well as our consular offices in Lucena, Dasmarinas, and Pampanga. This was the first time that Consular Offices outside of the NCR were captured as part of the DFA’s third-party audit scope.

The audit assessed the DFA’s quality management system’s compliance to the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The audit focused specifically on consular services offered by the DFA; Assistance to Nationals services, and; Management and Support Services to Consular and ATN Services.

Upon completion of the audit exercise, the third-party auditors reported zero (0) major and minor nonconformities, eight (8) opportunities for improvement, and five (5) comments. In addition, the auditors noted nine (9) good practices in offices that demonstrated the Department’s thrust of pursuing continual development. With these results, the Department has been favorably recommended by the auditors for continued certification against the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

This renewal of the DFA’s ISO 9001:2015 certification is proof of the Department’s commitment to providing high levels of quality across all areas of its operations, as well as its desire to continually improve its ways of working to serve its stakeholders more effectively. END
