DFA, DICT Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Consular Services

PASAY CITY 18 April 2023 — DFA Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo, and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John E. Uy signed the Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate and work on a synchronized and well-coordinated ICT system on 17 April 2023 at the Carlos P. Garcia Hall in the DFA.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) formalizes the synergistic cooperation between the DFA and DICT towards the digitization of Philippine consular services, namely the PH passports, visas and apostille. The MOU is envisioned to promote and ensure the integration, interoperability and interconnection of the DFA and DICT’s respective systems and applications with each other to achieve a more effective and efficient delivery of frontline services.

On hand to witness the historic signing on April 17 were Undersecretary Jesus Gary Domingo of the DFA-OUCSCA, DICT Undersecretary David Almirol, and DFA-Office of Consular Affairs (OCA) Assistant Secretary Henry Bensurto. END
