DFA Organizes International Roadshow Showcasing Six Innovative Startups

29 May 2023 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of International Economic Relations (OIER) organized an International Roadshow for Philippine Startups in partnership with Round One on 23-25 May 2023. More than 100 prospective investors from different countries attended the online event hosted via Zoom and Facebook.

The Startup Roadshow featured a diverse group of companies, each with its unique value proposition and transformative vision. The participating startups were:

  • BECXS is a nationwide logistic company with a franchise model looking to bring jobs and export/import support to far flung areas. 
  • Burket is a B2B Marketplace that efficiently connects businesses to suppliers and buyers enhancing discoverability, savings, and sales.
  • CLEVA is an e-trike solution for public transportation, helping promote sustainability, and at the same time providing livelihood and affordable commute to locals.
  • Cocotel is pioneering tech hotel-brand and aggregator focused on getaway destinations all across the Philippines (with over seventy properties in 50+ locations) and soon, across Southeast Asia.
  • Leapedhub supports high potential-low income students achieve their full potential by helping them fund their Tertiary Education using a unique blend of innovative finance and technology, helping deserving students achieve their dreams.
  • Tipaklong Sustainable Mobility provides affordable, environmentally friendly and socially distanced mobility solutions to customers through bike and e-scooter rentals.

The latter is the country’s first and only equity crowdfunding platform authorized by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). 

Through this event, the DFA hopes to raise awareness regarding the Philippines startup ecosystem and invite potential foreign investors and overseas Filipinos to invest in the growth of startups and create impact on local communities. END
