ULAANBAATAR 22 June 2023 – The Philippines, led by Ambassador to China Jaime A. FlorCruz, recently participated in the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security hosted by Mongolia. This was the first time the Philippines participated in the annual event. Philippine participation signified an increased Philippine interest to engage with Mongolia and regional countries, and was well received by Mongolia, as both countries prepare to celebrate their 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year.
At the Dialogue, Ambassador FlorCruz highlighted the Philippines’ independent foreign policy as enunciated by President Ferdinand R. Marcos’ “friend to all, enemy to none.”
The Dialogue is an initiative of Mongolia since 2014 to promote dialogue on various issues affecting the region. Some 60 participants from the government and representatives from academia from Asia, Americas and Europe were in attendance in this year’s Dialogue. END
