Pre-Departure Press Release on the State Visit of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. to Malaysia

MANILA 21 July 2023 - President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Maria Louise Araneta-Marcos were invited by the King of Malaysia to undertake a State Visit to Malaysia on the 25th to 27th of July 2023. During the visit, the President will have an audience with the King of Malaysia, and a meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to identify new areas of synergy between the two countries. 

During the visit, the President will also meet with prominent Filipino and Malaysian business leaders to enhance bilateral trade and investment, to enhance the economic opportunities for the Filipino people. 

While in Malaysia, the President will have the opportunity to meet with the Filipino community living there and personally inform them of his administration's plans and programs for the Overseas Filipinos. 

This reciprocal visit between the Leaders of both countries in 2023 is a testament to the reinvigorated relationship between the Philippines and Malaysia.  It is also timely as the Philippines and Malaysia will mark the 60th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2024.
